Dehradun: As part of the “Seva, Good Governance and Dedication” and “Government for Every Citizen, at Every Doorstep” campaigns, launched to mark five years of the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, multipurpose public service camps were organized across Uttarakhand on Wednesday. Through these camps, thousands of citizens received the benefits of various government schemes and services, while a large number of public grievances were resolved on the spot.
The camps were held in several districts, including Almora, Bageshwar, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Pauri, Chamoli, Champawat, Haridwar, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar. Departments such as health, agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, industries, self-employment, women and child development, social welfare, education, revenue, electricity, drinking water, food and civil supplies, AYUSH, and rural development set up stalls to provide information about government schemes and extend benefits to eligible beneficiaries.
A wide range of services was made available at a single location, including health check-ups, free medicine distribution, Aadhaar enrolment and certificate issuance, social security pensions, the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mahalakshmi Kit distribution, agricultural and horticultural assistance, livestock and dairy support, employment registration, scholarships, and farmer welfare schemes.
Out of 415 complaints and applications received during the camps, more than 179 cases were resolved immediately, while the remaining were forwarded to the concerned departments for time-bound action. Officials were instructed to ensure quality disposal of every complaint within the prescribed timeline.
More than 5,300 people participated in the camps across the state, while over 4,470 eligible beneficiaries received benefits under various government schemes. Participation included around 1,300 people in Almora, 1,130 in Haridwar, 1,150 in Bajpur (Udham Singh Nagar), 510 in Nainital, 440 in Champawat, and significant numbers in other districts as well.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the government’s objective is to ensure that good governance and public services reach every citizen. He described “Seva, Good Governance and Dedication” as not merely a campaign but the government’s working culture. He said these public service camps are bringing multiple government services to remote areas under one roof, saving citizens time, effort, and money while ensuring the speedy resolution of their problems. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible person, especially those at the last mile, benefits from development and welfare schemes.
