Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions amounting to approximately ₹51 crore for various projects aimed at strengthening helipad construction, road connectivity, disaster management, police modernisation, and judicial and prison infrastructure in the state. The Chief Minister said that improving connectivity in remote areas, ensuring swift relief and rescue operations, and developing robust infrastructure remain the government’s priorities.
Under the helipad construction projects, ₹8.91 crore has been approved for the construction of a helipad at Beda-Majheda (Karimpur) in Bageshwar district, ₹1.08 crore for a helipad at Sunkundi (Jakhol) in Mori development block of Uttarkashi district, and the first instalment has been sanctioned for the construction of a two-kilometre approach road and site development leading to the helipad at Daun Parewa in the Nainital Assembly constituency. In addition, approval has been granted for the release of the remaining ₹50 lakh for electrification and civil works at the Sahastradhara Heliport.
Under road infrastructure projects, ₹2.64 crore has been approved for the improvement and blacktopping of the Main Tok Kari Road, connecting from the Manch–Tamli Motor Road in Champawat district. Similarly, ₹3.84 crore has been sanctioned for the reconstruction and improvement of the Lodhiya–Chaugu Motor Road in Almora district.
Further, ₹16.87 crore has been approved for widening the New Cantt Motor Road, from Salawala Bridge to Vijay Colony Bridge in the Mussoorie Assembly constituency of Dehradun, from two lanes to a width of 10.50 metres.
To strengthen disaster management, the first instalment of ₹1.62 crore has been released for the construction of an SDRF post at Nainidanda (Uthidagaon) in Pauri district.
In addition, ₹2.14 crore has been sanctioned for the establishment of a video conferencing hall and procurement of necessary equipment at the Tehri District Jail, of which the first instalment of ₹85.72 lakh will be released. Approval has also been granted for the release of ₹15 crore out of the previously sanctioned ₹25 crore for machinery, equipment, and furnishing at the Police Headquarters.
The Chief Minister said that the implementation of these projects will strengthen air and road connectivity across the state, improve the speed and efficiency of disaster relief and rescue operations, and further reinforce the state’s security and administrative infrastructure.
