Dehradun: Uttarakhand’s proposal to establish separate Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) regional and district offices has received a positive response from the Central Government, raising hopes for improved services in the state. Responding to a proposal submitted by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Union Minister for Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has assured that the demand will be considered in accordance with existing rules and policy.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, the Union Minister stated that decisions regarding the establishment or upgradation of EPFO offices are based on factors such as workload, jurisdiction, the number of employees, administrative requirements, and service delivery needs. He also noted that EPFO has undertaken rationalisation of its offices in recent years to improve service delivery and balance workloads.
Dr. Mandaviya said that all suggestions and requests submitted by the Chief Minister have been taken seriously and will be examined in line with EPFO’s current policies and prescribed norms.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said expanding EPFO services in Uttarakhand is essential to provide better and more accessible services to employees, pensioners, and industrial establishments. He expressed confidence that the Central Government would take a positive decision keeping the interests of the state in mind.
