Dehradun: The 114th Board Meeting of the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) approved 25 key proposals aimed at the planned development of Dehradun, Mussoorie, and surrounding areas. Chaired by Garhwal Commissioner and MDDA Chairman Anand Swaroop, the meeting cleared proposals related to land pooling, tourism, hotels, industrial buildings, retail outlets, professional offices, ashrams, hostels, and restaurants.
The Board approved moving forward, in accordance with applicable rules, the proposal for free land-use conversion of the layout plan prepared for the first phase of the MDDA Land Pooling Scheme at Kalyanpur in Vikasnagar (Pargana Pachhwadun).
To promote tourism and investment, the Board also approved several proposals for hotels, tourism units, industrial buildings, retail outlets, professional offices, ashrams, hostels, and restaurants. All projects have been directed to proceed in compliance with prescribed regulations and technical standards.
The meeting emphasized that the rapidly expanding Dehradun and Mussoorie region must be developed in a planned, transparent, and technically sound manner. Officials noted that every proposal was approved only after detailed technical and regulatory scrutiny.
MDDA Vice-Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari said the Board’s decisions mark an important step toward balanced and planned regional development, adding that the approved projects would encourage investment and generate new employment opportunities.
MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Barniya said all approved proposals would be implemented in a transparent and time-bound manner to ensure that development works begin on the ground at the earliest while meeting all prescribed standards.
