Dehradun: On Saturday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred the July 2026 pension payments directly into the bank accounts of 987,017 beneficiaries under various pension schemes administered by the Social Welfare Department.
A total of ₹146 crore 32 lakh 50 thousand was transferred to the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The Chief Minister said the state government is committed to the welfare of every section of society. Pension payments are being transferred directly to beneficiaries’ accounts in a timely and transparent manner so that eligible people can receive the benefits of government schemes without inconvenience.
He said the government’s aim is to ensure that elderly parents, widows and persons with disabilities do not have to make repeated visits to government offices for their pensions. Ensuring that every eligible citizen receives their rightful benefits respectfully and on time is a priority of the state government.
Old-Age Pension Has the Highest Number of Beneficiaries
In July, old-age pension accounted for the largest number of beneficiaries, with 615,628 people receiving the benefit. They were paid ₹92.34 crore at the rate of ₹1,500 per month.
A total of 236,983 widow pension beneficiaries received ₹35.54 crore, while 89,128 beneficiaries of disability pensions received ₹13.36 crore. Another 27,288 farmer pension beneficiaries received ₹3.20 crore.
In addition, beneficiaries of deserted women’s pension, maintenance grants, Teelu Rauteli pension and dwarf pension also received the prescribed amounts.
Social Welfare Minister Khajan Das said that around 215,000 pensioners under the National Social Assistance Programme of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, are also included in the total number of beneficiaries. These beneficiaries are receiving pension payments through the new SNA-SPARSH system.
The Chief Minister said the state government’s objective is to provide social security to vulnerable and needy sections of society. He added that the government is continuously working to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach people at the last mile.
