Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of development works for the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster at Khurpia. The Chief Minister participated virtually in the high-level monitoring meeting of the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust, chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi.
At the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the entire 1,002 acres of land earmarked for the project is in the possession of the concerned organisation and there are currently no obstacles at the site. An agreement for development of the project was signed on March 20, 2026, and construction work has already commenced. A total of 24.1 kilometres of right-of-way has been cleared and handed over to the contractor.
The Chief Minister said that strengthening external infrastructure such as roads and electricity is a priority for the success of the Khurpia Industrial Cluster. Special attention is being given to widening approximately 10.7 kilometres of State Highway-44 between Nagla and Kichha to four lanes, as well as construction of a 400/220 kV power substation.
He directed officials to continuously monitor the construction works and ensure better coordination among departments. The target is to complete the trunk infrastructure associated with the project by December 2028.
The Chief Minister said that the Khurpia Industrial Cluster will play an important role in promoting investment, employment and economic activity in Uttarakhand. The government is making efforts to ensure that the project provides local youth with employment and skill-development opportunities and promotes industrial expansion in the region.
