‘Mere Sapno Ka Uttarakhand’ Campaign Receives Overwhelming Response Following CM’s Appeal; More Than 35,000 Essays Uploaded, August 24 Last Date

Dehradun: The ‘Mere Sapno Ka Uttarakhand’ (My Dream Uttarakhand) campaign launched following Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s appeal is receiving an overwhelming response from students. So far, more than 35,000 students from across the state have uploaded their essays on the portal.

On August 10, Chief Minister Dhami had interacted online with around three lakh students from Classes 11 and 12. During the interaction, he encouraged students to share their ideas on the development of Uttarakhand through essays.

Under the campaign, students have been given an opportunity to express their views on various subjects, including tourism, employment, social development, forests and environment, education, healthcare and technology. The Chief Minister had said that efforts would be made to incorporate the best ideas put forward by students into state policies.

A total of 140 outstanding ideas will be selected under the campaign. Selected students will get an opportunity to discuss their ideas with the Chief Minister and senior government secretaries. Scholarships and other awards for career development and examination preparation have also been announced for participating students.

Campaign coordinator Dr. Rahul Agarwal said that students from both government and private schools are showing considerable enthusiasm for the initiative. Students are also being issued certificates after uploading their essays, which has further encouraged participation.

He said that August 24 has been set as the last date for uploading essays. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is personally monitoring the campaign and regularly reviewing its progress.
