Mussoorie: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Mussoorie from Dehradun by road on Thursday, where he attended the passing-out ceremony of 187 trainee officers of the 2024 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) as the chief guest. Addressing the trainee officers, he wished them a bright future. The eight-week Phase-II Professional Training Course concluded on August 20.
Upon his arrival at the academy, the Director welcomed the Vice President with a bouquet. Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi also arrived at the academy. The Vice President paid floral tributes to the statues of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and former Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the academy campus.
The Vice President then attended the closing ceremony of Phase-II Professional Training for the 2024-batch IAS trainee officers. Addressing the trainees, he highlighted their important responsibilities in the administrative services and their duties toward public service.
In view of the Vice President’s visit, tight security arrangements were made across Mussoorie. Police and security personnel were deployed at the academy as well as along major roads in the city. Traffic arrangements were also closely monitored. When the Vice President arrived in Mussoorie, local residents standing along the roadside appeared enthusiastic. People greeted him with folded hands, and the Vice President reciprocated the gesture.
Earlier, on August 19, Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan had arrived in Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed him at Jolly Grant Airport. The Vice President subsequently participated in an interaction programme with Indian Forest Service probationers held at the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun.
He also interacted with probationers of the 2025–2027 batch of the Indian Forest Service and officers undergoing training from the Royal Bhutan Forest Service at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy and addressed the gathering.
