Khatima: Following Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s compassionate intervention, the treatment of eight-year-old Dev, son of Tikki vendor Ravi Sharma of Lohiyahed, has been facilitated. The Chief Minister has directed officials to ensure all necessary arrangements for the child’s proper treatment and to have the entire cost of treatment borne by the government.
Recently, Chief Minister Dhami had visited Ravi Sharma’s shop in Lohiyahed, where he tasted tikki. During the interaction, Ravi Sharma informed the Chief Minister about his son Dev’s serious health condition. He said that Dev had been suffering from a severe health problem since childhood and was unable to move his hands and legs. The child has been undergoing treatment for a long time and has also received treatment at Indresh Hospital in Dehradun.
Acting on the Chief Minister’s instructions, a team of doctors, along with District Magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadauria, Chief Medical Officer Dr. S.K. Goswami, Chief Development Officer Divesh Shasni and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Tushar Saini, reached Ravi Sharma’s residence late Monday evening. The doctors examined the child and collected details about his previous treatment and medical history.
The doctors advised that an MRI scan be conducted first for further treatment. The subsequent course of treatment will be decided on the basis of the MRI report. The District Magistrate directed the concerned officials to arrange the MRI examination immediately.
The District Magistrate said that the administration would provide a vehicle and all necessary assistance to take the child and his parents to the district hospital. He said every possible effort would be made to ensure the child receives the best possible treatment and that there would be no shortcomings in the treatment process.
The Chief Minister’s initiative has raised hopes of better treatment for Dev’s family. The family expressed its gratitude to the Chief Minister for his humanitarian intervention.
