New Delhi: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed students and young people from the northeastern states at ‘Nest Fest-2026’, organised at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. He said that youth power is the biggest transformative force in building a developed India.
The Chief Minister said the event was a symbol of the rich culture, traditions and national unity of Northeast India. He noted that the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand and the Northeast share several similarities in terms of geography and lifestyle. Such events, he said, help further strengthen the close bonds between the two regions.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Northeast has witnessed rapid development in roads, bridges, tunnels, waterways, telecommunications and education. Young people are also getting new opportunities to advance in education, skill development and sports.
The Chief Minister said the Northeast has given the country numerous talented personalities, including Mary Kom, Mirabai Chanu, Lovlina Borgohain and Baichung Bhutia. He urged young people to dream big and work with complete dedication to turn those dreams into reality.
Welcoming young people from the Northeast who are pursuing their education in Uttarakhand, the Chief Minister said, “Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is your own home.” He said the safety, dignity and progress of youth from the Northeast living in the state are among the priorities of the state government.
On Teachers’ Day, the Chief Minister extended his greetings to teachers across the country and also paid tribute to former President and eminent educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He called upon young people to play an active role in building a developed India.
