Dehradun: The Seva Sankalp Campaign will be conducted in Uttarakhand from September 17 to October 17 on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The month-long campaign will focus on service, public participation, dialogue and innovation, with the aim of involving citizens in the resolve of building a Developed India by 2047.
Under the campaign, 11 major programmes will be organised across the state. The participation of students, youth, women, beneficiaries, parents, public representatives, social organisations and ordinary citizens will be ensured. The campaign will also highlight the changes brought about in people’s lives through schemes of the Central and state governments, along with the success stories of beneficiaries.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Cabinet meeting discussed the framework of the campaign. He said that various programmes would be organised effectively in Uttarakhand along the lines of programmes planned at the national level. During the campaign, the government’s decisions and achievements will also be communicated to the general public.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special affinity for Uttarakhand. He said that the resolve of a Developed India can be achieved sooner only when every citizen of the country considers it their own resolve and contributes towards it. He noted that several important achievements have been recorded during Prime Minister Modi’s 25 years of public life, from his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat to becoming the Prime Minister of the country. Various programmes highlighting these achievements will also be organised during the campaign.
The Chief Minister said that ministers have been directed to review their respective departments and hold meetings. Ministers in charge will also be given responsibility for coordinating activities in their respective districts. He said that the objective of the Seva Sankalp Campaign is not merely to showcase government schemes and achievements, but to make citizens active participants in the resolve of Developed India-2047 through service, dialogue, innovation and public participation.
