Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed officials to make all roads across the state pothole-free at the earliest. He stated that the repair and restoration work on roads damaged due to the monsoon must be expedited. Issuing a stern warning, the Chief Minister remarked that after October 15, he may travel by road at any time to conduct surprise inspections of the arrangements.
While reviewing various public interest matters at the Secretariat on Monday, the Chief Minister directed District Magistrates to regularly review road conditions in their respective districts. He instructed them to effectively monitor the execution of work by concerned departments and executing agencies, paying special attention to quality during road construction and repairs.
Reviewing the Char Dham Yatra, the Chief Minister instructed officials to maintain optimal arrangements associated with the pilgrimage. He emphasized that the convenience and safety of devotees remain the highest priority. Regular monitoring must be conducted for traffic, health, drinking water, sanitation, and other essential arrangements along the pilgrimage routes. Concerned departments and District Magistrates should maintain close coordination to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
The Chief Minister also stressed making the third phase of the ‘Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar’ (Government for Every Citizen, at Every Citizen’s Doorstep) campaign more effective. He directed that maximum people should benefit from government schemes and services through camps, ensuring that public grievances are resolved on the spot wherever possible.
Preparations for the ‘Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan’ were also reviewed during the meeting. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure the effective implementation of proposed programs under the campaign, keeping public service, public participation, and public welfare at the core.
Regarding the prevention of swine flu as well as other infectious and waterborne diseases, the Chief Minister asked officials to complete all necessary preparations. He directed District Magistrates to inspect hospitals periodically and ensure cleanliness along with the availability of essential medicines and medical supplies.
The Chief Minister stated that there should be no laxity at any level in public welfare tasks. Officers from the administration and governance must work in mutual coordination to ensure that the benefits of government schemes and services reach eligible citizens in a time-bound manner.
