Chamoli. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami immediately took note of news reports showing residents of Sakand (Skand) village in the Karnaprayag development block taking up pickaxes, spades, and shovels to do manual labor for road connectivity. The Chief Minister instructed the District Magistrate and relevant departments to work in coordination and resolve the road issue on a priority basis. He directed that road construction procedures be expedited to complete the required action within three months.
The Chief Minister emphasized that developing villages and providing basic amenities to rural residents is a top priority for the government. He stated that the administration must act with sensitivity and promptness so that people in remote areas do not suffer for basic facilities like roads, health, and education. The government’s goal is not limited to framing schemes, but ensuring their benefits reach the last person in line.
Following the CM’s instructions, a joint team from the Revenue, Forest, and Public Works Departments arrived in Sakand village. The team inspected the site and initiated the preliminary work for road construction. Officials assured villagers that procedures would be fast-tracked to ensure necessary action within the three-month deadline.
Gram Pradhan Shivani Chaudhary expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his swift intervention, noting that the district administration acted instantly on his orders.
