Dehradun. On his birthday on Wednesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD) in Dehradun to celebrate with differently-abled children. The Chief Minister cut a birthday cake, spent time interacting with the children, and became visibly emotional when they sang a birthday song for him.
Encouraging the children, the Chief Minister shared that spending time with them instills new energy and inspiration in life. He emphasized that every child possesses unique talents and potential, requiring only opportunity, encouragement, and trust to succeed. He added that empowering persons with disabilities is a collective societal responsibility, not just a governmental one.
Dhami stressed that differently-abled children require self-reliance opportunities and support rather than mere sympathy, noting that strong willpower and continuous effort can overcome life’s obstacles. He noted that every morning represents a fresh start, which is why he prioritizes spending his birthday mornings with children.
