Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted with young talents under the ‘My Dream Uttarakhand’ programme held at the Chief Minister’s residence. Students shared their views and suggestions with the Chief Minister on technology, robotics, cybersecurity, skill development, self-employment and the vision of a developed Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister listened attentively to their questions and suggestions.
The Chief Minister said that the new ideas, big dreams and confidence of the youth are the greatest strengths of a developed Uttarakhand. He said that innovative ideas from young people in future-oriented fields such as technology, robotics and cybersecurity can play an important role in the development of the state.
Skill Training to Be Provided According to Industry Requirements
Responding to a student’s question, the Chief Minister said that the state government is working to provide training to young people in accordance with the actual requirements of industries and factories. For this purpose, direct agreements are being made with industries, and information is being collected from them regarding the trades and skills they require. The aim is to provide young people with training according to these requirements, create better employment opportunities for them, and provide industries with a skilled workforce locally.
Promotion of Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship
The Chief Minister said that the government is working to enable young people not merely to seek employment but also to become employment generators. New self-employment opportunities are being created by connecting local resources and traditional products with modern technology, better markets and branding.
Sugandh Mission to Take Uttarakhand’s Fragrance to Global Markets
Referring to the ‘Sugandh Mission’, the Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand’s biodiversity and unique plant species are being linked with employment and self-employment opportunities. Efforts are being made to take aromatic products and perfumes made from these plants to national and global markets through ‘House of Himalayas’. This will not only add value to local resources but also create greater livelihood and entrepreneurship opportunities in rural areas.
Employment Opportunities through Pine Needles
The Chief Minister said that pine needles, locally known as pirul, are being procured in the state at a rate of ₹10 per kilogram and are being used to manufacture various useful products. The initiative aims to make better use of pine needles available in forests while creating new sources of income for local communities.
The Chief Minister urged young people to pursue new fields according to their interests and abilities. He said that the participation of youth is the most important aspect of Uttarakhand’s development journey and that the government is continuously working to provide opportunities and platforms for their talent, innovation and new ideas.
