Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred ₹18.49 crore directly into the bank accounts of 10,709 eligible beneficiaries under various welfare schemes of the Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) on Saturday.
The Chief Minister stressed that construction workers play a vital role in state development, and the administration aims to ensure transparent, timely access to education, health, nutrition, and social security benefits. He directed officials to ensure no eligible worker family is left behind.
Medical Treatment Support & Health Monitoring
CM Dhami instructed officials to arrange complete medical treatment for workers identified with illnesses during health check-ups. He called for regular monitoring of scheme coverage across all districts to ensure workers in remote areas benefit equally.
It was highlighted during the event that current DBT transfers included:
- Maternity Support: 95 beneficiaries
- Post-Mortem Assistance: 177 beneficiaries
- Daughter’s Marriage Assistance: 2,354 beneficiaries
- Educational Assistance: 8,083 beneficiaries
To date, the Board has distributed 33,429 educational kit sets, 26,674 hygiene kits, and 23,216 nutrition kits (totaling 83,319 kits). Under the Workers’ Health Scheme, over 2.32 lakh health tests have been conducted.
National Recognition for Worker Health Scheme
The Chief Minister Worker Health Scheme received praise at the National Building and Other Construction Workers Conference in Mumbai, with states like West Bengal, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh showing interest in replicating the model.
47.21% Rise in Cess Collection
The Labour Cess Collection Management System recorded a 47.21% increase in collections after registering 21,200 establishments online, earning national recognition in the e-governance category in 2025.
