Dehradun: Following complaints of admissions obtained using fraudulent certificates in the Uttarakhand State Centralized Counseling for NEET-UG 2026, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed authorities to expand the scope of the investigation. Now, certificates of all candidates benefiting from any reserved category will be inspected and verified. Strict action will be taken against anyone found using fake certificates.
Following initial complaints, the Chief Minister directed officials to investigate the matter. Based on inquiries by the district administration, certificates of eight candidates have been canceled so far, and their admission process has been revoked.
Verification for All Reserved Categories
Given concerns that some candidates may have used forged certificates under various reserved categories, district-level investigations remain ongoing. The Chief Minister clarified that if any candidate’s certificate is found to be fraudulent during the investigation, it will be canceled, and severe action will be taken against the offenders.
The Chief Minister asserted that the government will not compromise on the interests of eligible candidates at any level. Describing admission based on fake certificates as a serious crime, he noted that prompt instructions for transparent investigation and action were issued as soon as cases came to light.
He added that the scope of the investigation is now being extended to all reserved category certificates. Strict action under the rules will be taken against anyone found guilty during verification.
