Dehradun: Ravindra Singh Rankuni, the newly elected Chairman of Nainital District Cooperative Bank, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday. He informed the Chief Minister about his election and expressed his gratitude.
The Chief Minister congratulated Ravindra Singh Rankuni on being elected Chairman and extended his best wishes. He stated that cooperation is not just a medium for economic activities, but a strong foundation for collective participation and self-reliance. In a hilly state like Uttarakhand, the role of cooperative institutions is even more vital, as they help connect farmers, cultivators, self-help groups, youth, and small entrepreneurs in rural areas to economic opportunities.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the government’s priority is to deliver the benefits of development to the last person in society. Efforts are being made through cooperatives to strengthen the rural economy, provide market access for local products, promote self-employment, and economically empower youth and women.
He added that the responsibility of the Nainital District Cooperative Bank is not limited to banking services alone, but extends to being a partner in the economic progress of farmers, villagers, and self-employed individuals. He urged the newly elected chairman to work toward making the bank more transparent, accountable, modern, and people-centric.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to injecting new energy into the cooperative sector in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation). Work is underway to turn cooperation into a vehicle for employment, self-employment, and economic empowerment in every village.
