Badrinath: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived at Badrinath Dham on Sunday to offer prayers and perform rituals seeking blessings for the peace, prosperity, and happiness of the state. Following his visit to the temple, the Chief Minister conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing construction and development projects under the Badrinath Master Plan.
The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of various under-construction projects, including the Aastha Path, and instructed officials to complete all works within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining standard quality parameters. He emphasized that during construction, the convenience of pilgrims must be ensured alongside maintaining the religious, spiritual, and traditional sanctity of the shrine.
Preserving the Heritage and Natural Beauty of the Shrine
The Chief Minister stated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, efforts are underway to transform Badrinath Dham into a grand, divine, and well-organized destination in line with its religious and mythological significance. Facilities developed under the Master Plan will enhance the pilgrimage experience. He added that while carrying out development work, preserving the shrine’s traditional identity, natural beauty, and spiritual essence remains crucial.
Saints and Devotees Gather for Katha Mahotsav
Later, the Chief Minister attended the Badrinath Dham Katha Mahotsav organized under the aegis of the Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot Sansthan. The event saw the participation of over 150 saints and daily spiritual leaders along with more than 1,200 devotees from various parts of the country.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Badrinath Dham stands as a primary center of India’s Sanatan consciousness and spiritual heritage, calling it a privilege to join saints and devotees at the festival. He noted that this sacred land has served as a seat of penance, spiritual practice, and divine consciousness for centuries.
Emphasis on Maintaining the Sanctity of Pilgrimage Sites
Dhami stated that with the Central Government’s guidance, pilgrim amenities are being expanded across major pilgrimage sites in Uttarakhand. The state government aims to ensure structured development while preserving the intact religious and cultural identity of these holy places.
He highlighted that religious landmarks such as Char Dham, Ganga-Yamuna, the Himalayas, and Hemkund Sahib define the unique identity of Devbhoomi (Land of Gods). The blessings and guidance of the saint community continue to inspire society and the nation. Such spiritual events play a vital role in passing down Sanatan traditions, culture, and core human values to future generations.
The occasion was attended by Minister of State Harak Singh, Madhav Prasad Semwal, BJP District President Gajpal Singh Bartwal, District Cooperative Bank Chairman Gajendra Singh Rawat, District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar, Superintendent of Police Surjeet Singh Panwar, along with several public representatives, officials, and a large gathering of devotees.
