Dehradun. The Bhumi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for the Dehradun campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur was performed on Wednesday. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan formally performed the rituals and expressed delight over the establishment of the campus.
The Chief Secretary stated that the opening of an IIM Kashipur campus in Dehradun will provide better opportunities for higher quality education in management to students from Uttarakhand and nearby regions. Students will have the convenience of pursuing various management-related courses within their own region.
He remarked that there is no dearth of talent among the state’s youth. The availability of high-level educational institutions will help youth hone their capabilities and leverage new opportunities.
The occasion was attended by IIM Kashipur Director Prof. Neeraj Dwivedi, Central Public Works Department (CPWD) Dehradun Chief Engineer Devendra Prakash, along with officials from concerned departments and the institute.
