Dehradun: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan reviewed the ongoing construction and reconstruction projects under the Badrinath-Kedarnath Dham Master Plan at the Secretariat on Thursday. Prioritizing six buildings on Central Street under the Kedarnath reconstruction project, he directed that work begin immediately after the travel season.
The Chief Secretary also inquired about the progress of asset transfers under the Master Plan. He instructed officials to expedite necessary agreements with relevant parties to prevent delays in starting construction.
Ban on Construction in Sensitive Areas
The Chief Secretary directed that no construction be allowed outside the Master Plan area, calling for an immediate government order (GO) to be issued. He emphasized that no agency should be granted permission to construct in sensitive and avalanche-prone areas, ensuring strict compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Review of Progress in Badrinath
Progress under Phases 1 and 2 of the Badrinath Dham Master Plan was also reviewed. The Chief Secretary instructed officials to maintain regular monitoring and complete all tasks within the stipulated timelines.
Providing an update on the under-construction hospital in Badrinath, District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar stated that the facility is planned to operationalize within about 15 days. The Chief Secretary directed that all necessary operational arrangements be completed on time.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Dhiraj Singh Garbyal, APCCF Vivek Pandey, Surendra Mehra, CCF Prasanna Kumar Patro, Additional Secretaries Vineet Kumar, Himanshu Khurana, and Abhishek Rohilla, along with District Magistrates of the respective districts.
