New Delhi: The Central Government has approved the deputation appointments of two 2015-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, Saju Vaheed A and Himanshu Khurana, to key positions within the central administration.
Saju Vaheed A (Tripura cadre) has been appointed as Deputy Director at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie. Meanwhile, Himanshu Khurana (Uttarakhand cadre) has been named Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, New Delhi.
According to separate orders issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday, October 9, 2026, both central deputation appointments have been approved for a period of four years from the date of assuming charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
- Saju Vaheed A Appointed Deputy Director at LBSNAA, Mussoorie
Saju Vaheed A, a 2015-batch IAS officer of the Tripura cadre, will serve as Deputy Director (at the Deputy Secretary level) at LBSNAA, Mussoorie—India’s premier training institute for civil servants, responsible for training IAS officer trainees and conducting professional development programs.
- Previous Posting: Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM) and Member Secretary, National Ayush Mission in Agartala, Tripura.
- Background: Born on January 5, 1986, Saju Vaheed A has served in key administrative roles across Tripura, including District Magistrate & Collector, Managing Director, Member Secretary, and Assistant Secretary.
2. Himanshu Khurana Appointed Deputy Secretary in Cabinet Secretariat
Himanshu Khurana, a 2015-batch IAS officer of the Uttarakhand cadre, moves to the Centre as Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, which provides administrative support to the Cabinet and coordinates inter-ministerial policies.
- Previous Posting: Additional Secretary in the Forest Department, Government of Uttarakhand (since October 12, 2025).
- Background & Achievements: Born on May 6, 1992, Khurana holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics from the University of Delhi. His past roles include Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Development Officer (CDO), Joint Magistrate, and District Magistrate.
- Awards & Recognition: Recipient of the State Award for Best Electoral Practices (2022), Chief Minister’s Excellence and Good Governance Award (2021–22), and Governor’s Outstanding District Magistrate Award (2022).
