During the program organized at the Police Lines, the Chief Minister laid a floral wreath to pay tributes to the martyred personnel of the police and paramilitary forces, and honored the family members of the martyrs.
The Chief Minister stated that personnel of the police and paramilitary forces play a vital role in maintaining internal security, peace, and law and order in the country. The courage and dedication of the personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty serve as a source of inspiration for everyone. He shared that over the past year, 154 personnel of police and paramilitary forces across the country sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, including three personnel from Uttarakhand.
Dhami noted that a martyr is not just the pride of their family, but of the entire nation. Their sacrifice remains immortal and inspires coming generations to serve the country. He mentioned that due to Uttarakhand’s difficult geographical conditions, natural disasters, and international borders with China and Nepal, the responsibilities of the state police become even more challenging. In changing times, tackling the expanding web of substance abuse and digital crime also poses a major challenge for the police.

For this, residential facilities are being expanded in a phased manner. Treatment facilities in district police hospitals are being upgraded to provide better healthcare services to police personnel and their families. Instructions have been issued to organize free check-up camps for regular health monitoring, and cashless medical facilities are also being made available to police personnel.
The Chief Minister shared that 785 police personnel have been promoted this year. Direct recruitment of 1,573 constables in the Civil Police and 373 in the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) has also been completed.
