Dehradun: The controversy surrounding a purported viral audio involving the brothers of Congress MLA from Chakrata, Pritam Singh, and a family from the Tyuni region has begun to escalate. Taking cognizance of the matter, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami spoke over the phone on Saturday with Diksha, the daughter of complainant Balak Ram, and gathered details about the entire incident. Assuring the family of safety and all possible assistance, the Chief Minister directed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to thoroughly investigate the matter and take action in accordance with the rules.
Chief Minister Dhami stated that ensuring the safety and dignity of every citizen in the state is the state government’s topmost priority. No individual or family will be allowed to live under an atmosphere of fear. He stated that the government stands with the aggrieved family and will provide all possible support to ensure they get justice.
Notably, a purported audio clip gone viral on social media contained allegations of abusive language and threats directed at Balak Ram, his family, and his daughters in connection with a matter involving Chaman Singh and Rajpal Singh, brothers of Congress MLA Pritam Singh. The matter gained attention after the audio surfaced. Taking serious note of the incident, the Chief Minister directed police officials to conduct an impartial investigation and ensure necessary legal action.
Madhu Chauhan Also Demands Impartial Investigation
BJP leader and former District Panchayat President Madhu Chauhan also demanded a transparent investigation into the entire episode, referencing the viral audio. The controversy had intensified after the audio allegedly featured a resident of the Tyuni region and his family’s daughters being subjected to abusive language and intimidation.
Following the Chief Minister’s directives, all eyes will now be on the police investigation and subsequent legal action. However, the allegations made in the viral audio can only be verified following an investigation.
