Gurugram/Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the grand “Vijay Parv” program organized by AWPL in Gurugram. In his address, the Chief Minister said that through this program, those talented and hardworking associates of AWPL are being honored who have established new dimensions of success through their hard work and dedication. The Chief Minister informed that this institution is delivering its products directly to consumers through a direct selling model, due to which customers are getting quality products and millions of people are getting opportunities to become self-reliant.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while mentioning the huge gathering present in the program, said that it is clear from this that the direct selling model has today become an effective medium of bringing positive change in the lives of millions of people. He congratulated and extended best wishes to the Managing Director and CEO of AWPL, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar and his entire team for this grand event.
Youth are becoming job seekers – Dhami
In his address, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, youth are being inspired to become “job creators” instead of “job seekers” and the direct selling model is a strong example of this thinking. He said that this model is not only a medium of economic empowerment but also provides an opportunity for personality development and enhancement of abilities.
He emphasized especially on the participation of youth and women, saying that today women are strengthening the economic condition of their families through such platforms and are establishing their distinct identity in society.
Government implemented rules in 2021
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that in the year 2021, the central government implemented consumer protection and clear rules for the direct selling sector, which has ensured transparency, reliability and protection of consumer interests in this sector. These rules have strengthened the rights of direct sellers and provided an organized and trustworthy structure to the entire sector. He said that currently the direct selling industry is progressing rapidly and is playing an important role in strengthening the country’s economy.
India has become the world’s third largest startup ecosystem
The Chief Minister, mentioning the Prime Minister’s vision of “Reform, Perform and Transform”, said that it has brought wide changes in the fields of investment, infrastructure, education, health, women empowerment and social justice in the country. He said that today India is being seen globally as a land of development, trust and opportunities. He mentioned initiatives like “Startup India”, “Vocal for Local”, “Make in India”, “Skill India” and “Digital India” and said that through these, the country is moving rapidly towards self-reliance and India has become the world’s third largest startup ecosystem.
State’s annual budget reached 1 lakh crore
Pushkar Singh Dhami, while mentioning the development works taking place in Uttarakhand, said that under the Global Investors Summit held in 2023, investment agreements worth more than ₹3.56 lakh crore were signed, out of which investment proposals worth more than ₹1 lakh crore have been implemented on the ground. The state’s economy is continuously strengthening, in which a growth of 7.23% in GSDP and an increase of about 41% in per capita income has been recorded. The state’s annual budget has increased from ₹60 thousand crore to more than ₹1 lakh crore.
Number of startups in the state crossed 1750
The Chief Minister said that more than 20 thousand new industries have been established in the state and the number of startups has increased from 700 to more than 1750. Along with this, there has also been a significant increase in the number of heliports and helipads, which has strengthened connectivity and disaster management capacity.
50 percent increase in homestays in Uttarakhand
He said that electricity production in Uttarakhand has increased more than three times. In the tourism sector, about 25% growth in the hotel industry and more than 50% increase in homestays has been recorded, which has promoted local employment. The Chief Minister said that the state has secured second place in the country in public financial management and has also achieved leading positions in Ease of Doing Business and Startup Ranking. Along with this, securing second place among Himalayan states in the Innovation Index and first place in NITI Aayog’s SDG Index reflects the achievements of the state.
CM Dhami mentioned ‘Lakhpati Didi’
He mentioned the efforts being made for the empowerment of women and said that by promoting the concept of “Vocal for Local” and “Local to Global”, the “House of Himalayas” brand has been launched, through which products of self-help groups are being given global recognition. The Chief Minister said that as a result, about 2.75 lakh women in the state have become “Lakhpati Didis” and are moving forward towards empowerment.
He said that AWPL is also playing an important role in promoting indigenous products and making youth and women self-reliant. In the end, the Chief Minister appealed to all present to actively contribute in realizing the vision of a developed and self-reliant India and become participants in this campaign to move the country forward.
