Haridwar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday launched the “Beej Sanjeevani Abhiyan” (Seed Sanjeevani Campaign) during the Mango Festival held in Haridwar. He inaugurated the campaign by planting the seeds of mango, jamun, jackfruit, neem, and bael.
The Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state to plant fruit seeds in suitable locations instead of discarding them after consuming the fruits, so that more trees can grow naturally and contribute to environmental conservation. He said that the participation of every citizen is essential in building a greener Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister said that the campaign has been launched from Haridwar and will be expanded across the state as a people’s movement. He added that the initiative will encourage the natural growth of more trees, giving fresh momentum to the Green Haridwar campaign while strengthening biodiversity conservation and ecological balance.
The Chief Minister urged youth, students, voluntary organisations, and various institutions to actively participate in the campaign by planting as many seeds as possible to make Uttarakhand greener. He expressed confidence that this public participation-driven initiative would become an effective mass movement for environmental conservation.
