Dehradun: With the Uttarakhand Assembly elections drawing closer, the Dhami government has released its third consecutive list of political appointments. By assigning key responsibilities to six leaders in various commissions, boards, and advisory committees, the government has indicated its intent to further strengthen coordination between the party organization and governance.
According to orders issued late Friday evening, Dehradun resident Omveer Singh Raghav has been appointed Vice Chairman of the Sugarcane Development Advisory Committee. Dhirendra Panwar has been named Vice Chairman of the Media Advisory Committee, while Bhupendra Kandari has been appointed Vice Chairman of the Cow Service Commission. Retired Lt. Colonel Raghuveer Singh Bhandari has been made Vice Chairman of the Disaster Management Advisory Committee.
The government has also appointed senior Udham Singh Nagar leader Ranjeet Singh Namdhari as Vice Chairman of the Animal Welfare Board. Meanwhile, Kiran from Champawat has been entrusted with the responsibility of Vice Chairperson of the Border Area Programme Monitoring Council.
The third list released within three days is being viewed as politically significant. Political observers believe that, with the Assembly elections approaching, the BJP is seeking to strengthen its political and social base by assigning responsibilities to active and senior party workers.
According to sources, the number of appointees placed in various commissions, councils, and committees by the government has now crossed 100, and more appointments are expected in the coming days.
