Campaign to Remove Encroachments from Government Land to Be Intensified, Strict Action on Violation of Land Laws – CM Dhami

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a virtual meeting with all District Magistrates from Khatima and directed officials to accelerate the campaign to remove encroachments from government land. The Chief Minister said that government land located in village assemblies should also be investigated and immediate action must be ensured against land purchased in violation of state land laws. He stated that wherever violations of land laws are found, speedy hearings should be conducted and the concerned land should be vested in the state government.

CM Dhami also instructed officials to remove illegal encroachments on enemy properties in the state. He directed that details of Waqf properties uploaded on the Umeed portal should be regularly reviewed and continuously verified. The Chief Minister further instructed officials to verify weapon licenses of people coming from other states and identify individuals with criminal backgrounds.

The Chief Minister directed officials to inspect public service centers and identify ineligible persons availing government benefits through illegal ration cards. He also instructed authorities to intensify verification drives while maintaining strict surveillance on suspicious activities.

Keeping the upcoming monsoon season in mind, the Chief Minister directed all districts to complete preparations in advance. He said pre-monsoon review meetings should be organized in every district to ensure all necessary arrangements. He instructed officials to complete repairs of damaged roads in interior areas in a time-bound manner and maintain smooth drinking water supply during the summer season.

The Chief Minister said that any issue related to water supply or technical problems should be resolved immediately on priority. He directed officials that unnecessary power cuts should not occur under any circumstances in the state and, if power outages become unavoidable, timely information should be communicated to the public.

Reviewing the Char Dham Yatra, the Chief Minister instructed officials to regularly monitor the pilgrimage and continuously collect feedback from pilgrims. He said arrangements should be improved based on suggestions and complaints received from devotees. He also emphasized proper drinking water arrangements and stronger traffic management along the pilgrimage routes.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to complete the Kainchi Dham bypass construction work under the Manaskhand Yatra project by next month under all circumstances. Directing the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments, he said that schemes such as Poly House, Apple Mission, and Kiwi Mission should not remain limited to paperwork, but effective efforts should be made to ensure actual benefits reach farmers.

CM Dhami said there is a need to adopt a result-oriented work culture in the agriculture and horticulture sectors to increase farmers’ income and strengthen the rural economy. He also directed officials to expedite reconstruction works in disaster-affected areas from last year and regularly review the ongoing works in Joshimath.
