Rudrapur: A major update has emerged in the case of a dispute that occurred while a person was offering Namaz near Atariya Temple in SIDCUL Pantnagar. The court has rejected the bail application of the accused and has taken a strict stance, considering the matter serious. The incident took place on February 24, when a person was assaulted while offering prayers. The incident created tension in the area, and members of a particular community termed it unfortunate. After the complaint, a case was registered against the accused.
Following the incident, the victim submitted a complaint at SIDCUL Pantnagar police station. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and immediately sent the injured person for medical examination. After serious injuries were confirmed in the medical report, the police registered a case, treating it as serious. Acting swiftly, the police arrested the accused, temple manager Arvind Sharma, and sent him to jail. The accused then filed a bail application in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate on March 7, which was rejected. Subsequently, he filed another bail application in the district court.
During the hearing, the investigating officer presented video evidence, the victim’s statement, and a map of the incident site in the court. The hearing took place in the court of First Additional District and Sessions Judge Ashutosh Mishra. The court considered the matter serious in nature. Government advocate S.P. Singh informed that the accused has a criminal history, including cases under serious sections. The court also found that the accused misused his criminal influence to carry out the act. A case is also registered against him at Dineshpur police station.
In its order, the court stated that such incidents not only affect law and order but can also disturb social and religious harmony. Considering the seriousness of the case, the criminal history of the accused, and his possible influence, the court rejected the bail application. The accused is currently in judicial custody, and further investigation is ongoing.
