Dehradun. On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, the holy banks of the Yamuna River in Haripur Kalsi were filled with devotion, culture, and development. Under the “Aashirwad Ka Diya” initiative, 2,100 earthen lamps were illuminated along the riverbank. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami joined saints, devotees, and locals to perform the Maa Yamuna Aarti, unveiled a statue of Goddess Yamuna, inaugurated Harighat, and laid the foundation stone for the Maa Yamuna Krishna Temple.
CM Dhami noted that Kalsi is a land rich in history and cultural heritage. He emphasized that the new statue, Harighat, and the institutionalization of daily Aartis will strengthen the region’s spiritual identity.

- ₹150 Crore Sanctioned for Hanol Master Plan: The state government approved ₹150 crore to develop infrastructure and amenities for pilgrims and tourists visiting the Mahasu Devta Shrine in Hanol, Jaunsar-Bawar.
- Focus on Local Tourism Economy: Special attention is being given to beautifying and upgrading historic sites like Lakhamandal. Expanding tourism activities will drive local homestays, handicrafts, transportation, and culinary businesses, generating employment for regional youth.
