Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday watched the much-discussed film The Kerala Story 2 at a mall in Dehradun. On this occasion, he said that such films serve as a powerful medium to spread awareness by bringing sensitive issues in society to the forefront.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is fully committed to ensuring women’s safety, social harmony, and population balance. He added that Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code, calling it a historic initiative. He said that this system will play an important role in ensuring equality and justice in society.
He further stated that a strict anti-conversion law has also been implemented in the state, which has effectively curbed illegal and forced religious conversions. According to him, such laws help strengthen transparency, security, and mutual trust in society.
The Chief Minister clarified that the government’s objective is not against any particular group, but to protect the rights of all citizens. He urged the youth to stay aware and play an active role in bringing positive changes in society.
He added that such films provide an opportunity for society to reflect and understand important issues, and the government supports all such efforts. Several public representatives were present on the occasion.
