Chief Minister Inaugurates Shravani Fair, Says ₹147 Crore Jageshwar Master Plan Will Transform the Shrine

Almora: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday formally inaugurated the world-famous Shravani Fair at Jageshwar Dham. Amid Vedic chants, he offered prayers for the happiness, prosperity, and welfare of the people of the state. Extending his greetings on the occasion of Harela, the Chief Minister also planted a sapling in the temple premises and conveyed the message of environmental conservation.

Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister said that the state government is fully committed to preserving and promoting the religious, cultural, and spiritual heritage of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. He stated that the Jageshwar Master Plan Project, worth approximately ₹147 crore, is being implemented to beautify the shrine and develop its infrastructure. The project aims to preserve the temple’s ancient glory while creating modern facilities for devotees.

The Chief Minister said that the number of devotees visiting Jageshwar Dham has increased significantly since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the shrine. More than 400,000 devotees have visited the temple over the past two months, boosting local trade, tourism, and self-employment. He added that the state government is rapidly working to strengthen religious tourism, roads, healthcare, education, and connectivity.

Earlier, the Chief Minister visited Vriddha Jageshwar Dham, offered prayers to Lord Shiva, and distributed prasad to young girls. He instructed officials to ensure proper facilities, security, and essential arrangements for devotees so that no pilgrim faces any inconvenience.

The programme was attended by Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta, Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA Mohan Singh Mehra, District Panchayat Chairperson Hema Gaida, Mayor Ajay Verma, District Magistrate Anshul Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Chandrashekhar R. S., office-bearers of the temple committee, along with a large number of public representatives, local residents, and devotees.
