Dehradun: A high-level coordination meeting was held in the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan regarding pre-monsoon repair work on the Char Dham Yatra routes. Officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), BRO, NHAI, and other national highway agencies attended the meeting.
The Chief Secretary directed that all necessary work be completed on priority to ensure a safe and smooth Char Dham Yatra. He emphasized completing treatment work in landslide-prone areas before the monsoon.
He also instructed that bottleneck points along the routes be addressed quickly and that the number of machines and equipment be increased to handle any emergency situations effectively.
Senior officials from BRO, NHAI, and THDC, along with District Magistrates of Uttarkashi, Tehri, and Chamoli, were present in the meeting. All departments were directed to work in coordination and complete tasks within the stipulated time to avoid inconvenience to pilgrims during the monsoon season.
