The meeting reviewed progress on the proposed ropeway projects to Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib and approved several related proposals.
The Chief Secretary instructed officials to expedite forest land clearances and complete all required surveys within the prescribed timelines. He also directed agencies to prioritize utility shifting, electricity infrastructure, and drinking water-related works.
Special emphasis was placed on:
- Parking facilities
- Last-mile connectivity
- Commercial development around ropeway stations
Officials from National Highways Logistics Management Limited reported that LiDAR surveys and videography for the Kedarnath Ropeway Project have been completed. Geotechnical investigations are underway, and surveys at Gaurikund and Sonprayag stations have already been completed.
The preliminary alignment has been finalized, while the final alignment is expected by June 2026.
A logistics dry run using full-scale containers between Dehradun and Sonprayag has also been successfully completed. Survey work for the Hemkund Sahib Ropeway Project is ongoing, although adverse weather conditions have delayed some drone-based mapping activities.
