Children’s Education and Health Records to Be Linked Through ABHA and APAAR IDs

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government is preparing to launch an integrated digital platform to strengthen education and healthcare services for children. During a meeting held at the Secretariat, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan directed the Education, Technical Education, and Health Departments to develop a unified system for tracking and mapping a child’s journey from birth through education and healthcare services.

He instructed officials to create ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) IDs and APAAR IDs for every child and maintain records related to health, immunization, Anganwadi services, school admissions, and academic achievements on a single platform.

The proposed system would track milestones such as vaccinations, enrollment in Anganwadi centres, school admissions, and school completion. Parents would also receive SMS alerts informing them when their child becomes eligible for vaccination, Anganwadi enrollment, or school admission.

The Chief Secretary said the platform would enable departments to monitor children’s progress more effectively and ensure that no child is deprived of educational or healthcare services. He directed departments to work jointly with National Informatics Centre and Information Technology Development Agency to develop the platform at the earliest.
