Dehradun: After death of retired Brigadier Mukesh Kumar Joshi in road rage and firing incident in Dehradun, police and administration have become strict. After नाराजगी (anger) of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on the matter, now special campaign ‘Operation Prahar’ will be run to control crime in Dehradun.
After instructions of the Chief Minister, Director General of Police Deepam Seth has instructed Dehradun police to run special campaign. In this sequence, a meeting of senior officials was organized at police headquarters, in which law and order of the city was discussed in detail.
Senior officers including IG Garhwal, IG STF, SSP Dehradun and SSP STF were present in the meeting. Clear instructions were given to officials that criminal activities in the city should be strictly controlled and police activity should be increased in sensitive areas.
Important instructions given to officers
In the meeting, fixing responsibilities of police officers, many important instructions were issued. IG Garhwal has been told to do daily monitoring of law and order of Dehradun. At the same time, SSP Dehradun has been instructed to fix responsibility of subordinate officers and ensure effective policing.
Apart from this, Circle Officers and Station In-charges have been told to remain active in field themselves, increase police presence in identified hotspot areas and run intensive checking campaign at barriers. Especially in morning time, instructions have been given to increase police patrolling and monitoring.
Verification of tenants and PG
The Director General of Police instructed that intensive verification campaign of tenants and people living in PG in the city should be run. Along with this, regular monitoring of activities being operated in home-stays should also be done so that any kind of illegal activity can be stopped.
Strictness on pub-bars also
Police has given instructions to take strict action against pubs, bars and restaurants found open after fixed time. If establishment is found open after prescribed time, direct case will be registered.
Regarding this, Senior Superintendent of Police of Dehradun held a meeting with operators of pubs, bars and restaurants of the city and warned them to strictly follow rules. Operators have been told to get 100% verification of their employees done and immediately inform police about any dispute.
Police sought cooperation
Police officials appealed to establishment operators to cooperate in maintaining better environment of the city. It was also said that strict legal action will be taken against those violating rules.
Considering continuously increasing criminal incidents in the capital, this special campaign of police is being considered an important step towards strengthening the security system of the city in coming days.
