Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions worth approximately ₹227 crore for various development and infrastructure projects across Uttarakhand. The approvals include key projects related to Kumbh Mela-2027, road expansion, police infrastructure, scholarships for dependents of ex-servicemen, and an increase in dearness relief for pensioners.
The Chief Minister approved the release of the first instalment of ₹96.59 lakh against the sanctioned cost of ₹2.41 crore for the construction of the administrative building of Sultanpur Police Outpost in Haridwar district.
He also approved a ₹11.95 crore project for utility shifting and relocation of drinking water pipelines to facilitate the widening of the 1.650-kilometre New Cantt Road in Dehradun from two lanes to three lanes.
To accelerate preparations for Kumbh Mela-2027, the Chief Minister sanctioned ₹214.09 crore for the construction of ghats and Aastha Paths along both banks of the Ganga River in the Chandi Ghat downstream area of Haridwar under the Irrigation Department. The project includes ₹98.18 crore for works on the left bank in the Gaurishankar area and ₹115.91 crore for works on the right bank in the Bairagi Camp area.
The Chief Minister also approved scholarships worth ₹36.84 lakh from the Kargil Shaheed Parivar Chief Minister’s Assistance Fund for the dependents of ex-servicemen from Uttarakhand pursuing Engineering, Medical, and PhD courses.
In addition, CM Dhami approved a proposal to increase the Dearness Relief (DR) for civil and family pensioners of public bodies and government undertakings to 60% per month, effective January 1, 2026. The decision is expected to provide financial relief to thousands of pensioners across the state.
