Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial and administrative sanctions worth ₹495 crore to accelerate infrastructure development across Uttarakhand and strengthen preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027. The approved funds will support road construction, urban local bodies, district panchayats, power infrastructure, tourism, beautification of religious sites, and several other public welfare projects. The Chief Minister has also approved an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees of the state government and autonomous bodies.
Under the State Plan, funds have been sanctioned for road construction and reconstruction, temple beautification, a women’s technology park, multi-level parking facilities, and other development works in several Assembly constituencies, including Narendranagar, Dharchula, Haridwar, Laksar, Sitarganj, Champawat, Almora, and Pithoragarh.
The approved projects also include the construction of a multi-level parking facility in Ramnagar, an adventure park in Champawat, the construction of a Recruit Training Centre (RTC) and barracks at the PAC campus in Rudrapur, and the comprehensive development of Gunji village.
To ensure uninterrupted and reliable electricity supply during Kumbh Mela 2027, the government has sanctioned ₹43.87 crore. In addition, approval has been granted to release ₹328.28 crore to urban local bodies for the second quarter and ₹82.21 crore to district panchayats, providing a major boost to local development activities.
The Chief Minister has also approved an increase in Dearness Allowance for employees of the state government and autonomous institutions who are covered under the Fifth and Sixth Central Pay Commissions. The DA under the Fifth Pay Commission has been increased from 474% to 483%, while the DA under the Sixth Pay Commission has been raised from 257% to 262%. The revised rates will take effect from January 1, 2026.
The government has further approved the renaming of two roads in the Ranikhet Assembly constituency of Almora district. The Bidora–Chevi Patshahi Gate–Dhumkheda Road will be renamed “Sahibzada Fateh Singh Road,” while the Sauni–Daudakhal–Tipola Motor Road will be named after late statehood activist Puran Singh Dangwal.
