CM Dhami Attends BJP Kumaon Division Meeting, Targets Rahul Gandhi

Haldwani: An important organisational meeting of BJP district presidents and divisional presidents of the Kumaon division was held at Nandhaurgarh Palace Resort in Chorgalia, Haldwani. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also attended the meeting. Discussions were held with office-bearers regarding upcoming programmes, strengthening the organisation and preparations for the elections.

Before the meeting, Chief Minister Dhami targeted the Congress over the alleged ‘purification’ controversy in Haldwani. He said that divisive politics is not acceptable in Devbhoomi. The Chief Minister alleged that the Congress was attempting to divide society by playing the caste card.

The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has always embraced people from all sections of society and that politics based on caste and class divisions cannot succeed here. He also targeted the Congress over its alleged treatment of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Babu Jagjivan Ram and Sitaram Kesri.

Attacking Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Dhami said that Rahul Gandhi’s language and statements reveal his mindset. He also questioned the role of Rahul Gandhi’s advisers and described the Congress’s politics as being driven by frustration and disappointment.

The Chief Minister alleged that the Congress’s politics also reflects its attitude towards women. He said that such a mindset caused delays in providing women with 33 per cent reservation in Parliament. The Chief Minister said that the BJP follows a politics of bringing society together and moving forward with development.
