CM Dhami Attends Ram Katha in Haridwar, Reiterates Commitment to a Grand, Divine and Safe Kumbh 2027

Haridwar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed devotees at the concluding ceremony of Pujya Morari Bapu’s Shri Ram Katha at Prem Nagar Ashram in Haridwar on Wednesday. He called upon people to embrace Sanatan values, the ideals of Lord Rama, and spiritual principles in their daily lives.

The Chief Minister said Haridwar’s sacred atmosphere offers spiritual peace and joy and praised Morari Bapu for spreading Indian culture and Sanatan philosophy across the world.

Referring to global challenges such as war, violence, and terrorism, he said the Sanatan message of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The World Is One Family) serves as a guiding principle for humanity. He added that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is witnessing a cultural renaissance, and the Uttarakhand government is working to establish the state as the world’s spiritual capital through initiatives such as the Kedarkhand–Manaskhand Temple Garland Mission, the Haridwar–Rishikesh Corridor, the Sharda Corridor, and the conservation and beautification of ancient temples.

The Chief Minister noted that religious tourism has reached new milestones this year. More than 4.5 million pilgrims have visited the Char Dham shrines in just two months, over 150,000 devotees have undertaken the Hemkund Sahib pilgrimage, and large numbers are participating in the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. He said he had the privilege of flagging off the first batch of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra on 5 July, reflecting the state’s improved infrastructure and safe pilgrimage management.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to making Kumbh 2027 grand, divine, and safe, he said the Kumbh is not merely a religious gathering but a festival of social harmony, spiritual awakening, and Sanatan culture. He emphasized that the government is working under the motto “Development Alongside Heritage” to strengthen Uttarakhand’s cultural and spiritual identity. He urged devotees to follow the ideals of Lord Rama and expressed confidence that, with the blessings of saints and public participation, Uttarakhand would achieve new heights in the spiritual and cultural sphere.
