Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Shrimad Bhagavat Katha Gyan Yajna and Grand Saints’ Conference organized at Hari Seva Ashram on Monday. During the event, he welcomed saints and spiritual leaders and praised the Ashram’s contributions to social service, value-based education, and public awareness.

The Chief Minister said that the Shrimad Bhagavatam is not merely a religious discourse but a means of connecting people with spiritual consciousness, moral values, and the true purpose of life.

He noted that the saint community has historically played a crucial role in preserving Indian culture, spirituality, and national consciousness, while also contributing significantly to nation-building.

Referring to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Dhami said India is experiencing a new era of cultural renaissance. He highlighted projects such as the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Mahakal Lok, and the redevelopment of Kedarnath Dham as initiatives strengthening India’s spiritual heritage.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government is working continuously to establish Uttarakhand as a global spiritual capital. He stated that measures such as the anti-conversion law, the Uniform Civil Code, and land-related legal reforms have been introduced to protect the state’s cultural identity and Sanatan values.

He further said that action is being taken to remove encroachments from government land and strengthen law and order across the state.

To connect younger generations with Indian culture and traditions, the government has established the Centre for Hindu Studies at Doon University, where advanced studies and research on Indian philosophy, culture, and civilization will be conducted. He also announced that an Oriental Research Institute is being established in Haridwar.

During the event, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Swami Harichetanand Ji Maharaj and requested continued guidance and blessings from the saint community for the progress of the state and the nation.
