Dehradun/Yamkeshwar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha organized at Vanaprastha Ashram in Yamkeshwar. Addressing devotees, he said that the Shrimad Bhagwat is the living form of Lord Krishna, guiding people on the path of righteousness, knowledge, and devotion, and giving a positive direction to life.
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Narendra Modi, the widening and strengthening of Char Dham travel routes have made the pilgrimage more smooth, safe, and convenient. He added that the state government is working on several important projects to promote religious and cultural tourism.
He mentioned initiatives such as the construction of ghats along the Yamuna River in the Kalsi-Haripur region, the Sharda Corridor, Haridwar-Rishikesh Corridor, and the establishment of a ‘Centre for Hindu Studies’ at Doon University, stating that these are strengthening the state’s economy and cultural identity.
Local MLA Renu Bisht welcomed the Chief Minister and said that development works in the Yamkeshwar region have gained new momentum due to the government’s efforts, directly benefiting the people.
On this occasion, Govind Dev Giri, who was narrating the Bhagwat Katha from the Vyasa Peeth, highlighted the spiritual, cultural, and moral significance of the Shrimad Bhagwat and urged devotees to follow the path of righteousness and good deeds.
Swami Chidanand Saraswati, president of Parmarth Ashram, said that the Bhagwat Katha is not just a religious event but a powerful medium to inspire society toward moral values, service, and humanity.
