CM Dhami distributed scholarships at the Sanskrit Student Talent Honors Program and inaugurated the e-Sanskrit Conversation Camp

Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Sanskrit Student Talent Honors Program held at the Chief Servant Sadan in the Chief Minister’s Camp Office on Sunday. On this occasion, he presented the Gargi Girls Sanskrit Scholarship and the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Scheduled Caste/Tribe Sanskrit Scholarship to students.

During the program, the Chief Minister virtually inaugurated the Competitive Examination Self-Study Center and the e-Sanskrit Conversation Camp and also released the Uttarakhand Sanskrit University’s quarterly journal, “Sanskrit Varta.”

The Chief Minister said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is identified not only by its mountains and historical temples, but also by the divine language of Sanskrit. He said that the Indian knowledge tradition, from the Vedas to the Upanishads, Ramayana, and Mahabharata, is rooted in Sanskrit. Sanskrit is not only a heritage of our past but also the language of future possibilities.

Referring to the scientific grammar of Sanskrit, he said that Panini’s Ashtadhyayi remains a subject of research for linguists worldwide. Through the National Education Policy 2020, efforts are being made to establish Sanskrit as a modern and practical language. Work is also underway to make Sanskrit literature available on digital platforms and to present Sanskrit texts in new forms through AI technology.

The Chief Minister informed that the state government is continuously making efforts to promote Sanskrit. Model Sanskrit villages have been established in all districts, and Sanskrit has been granted the status of the second official language in the state. The ‘Gargi Sanskrit Girls Scholarship Scheme’ has also been launched in the state.

Sanskrit Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that several innovations have been made to strengthen Sanskrit education in the state. Facilities in universities have been expanded, and a Sanskrit village has been developed in each district.

On this occasion, MLAs Savita Kapoor, Khajan Das, Secretary of Sanskrit Education Deepak Kumar, Vice Chancellor Prof. Many dignitaries including Ramakant Pandey and Director of Sanskrit Education Kanchan Devradi were present.
