Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and property caused by a sudden and devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Nepal’s Rasuwa region. He said that the loss of lives and extensive damage caused by the natural disaster is deeply tragic and concerning. The people of Uttarakhand and the state government stand in solidarity with the affected families in Nepal.
Chief Minister Dhami prayed for the peace of the departed souls and the safety of those affected. He said that the relationship between India and Nepal is not limited to that of neighboring countries but is rooted in shared culture, traditions, faith, and emotional bonds. Uttarakhand and Nepal have shared social, cultural, and family ties for centuries.
The Chief Minister said that people in border areas, including Pithoragarh and Champawat in the Kumaon region, have deep connections with Nepal. Therefore, the disaster in Nepal feels to the people of Uttarakhand like a crisis affecting a member of their own family. “Nepal’s pain is Uttarakhand’s pain,” he said, adding that Uttarakhand stands with its Nepali brothers and sisters in this hour of crisis.
He said that the geographical conditions of the Himalayan region make both countries vulnerable to natural disasters. The state government is closely monitoring the situation and is prepared to provide all possible assistance if required.
