CM Dhami held a review meeting of the Uttarakhand Other Backward Classes Commission and directed officials to construct OBC Welfare Community Halls in both divisions

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting of the Uttarakhand Other Backward Classes Commission’s work at the Secretariat on Tuesday. During the meeting, CM Dhami directed officials to construct Uttarakhand Other Backward Classes Welfare Multipurpose Halls/Community Halls in both divisions of the state, Garhwal and Kumaon, and to advance the construction of these buildings on a priority basis.

The CM directed that the proposed buildings be equipped with banquet halls, guest houses, auditoriums, training rooms, meeting rooms, and other necessary facilities to facilitate various social, educational, and administrative activities. The CM directed officials to prepare and submit the DPR for the multipurpose building soon. Wide publicity should be given to all public welfare schemes run by the state government in OBC-dominated areas. In addition, special campaigns should be launched to connect eligible beneficiaries with the schemes.

The Chief Minister directed officials to coordinate between departments for the implementation of schemes in OBC-dominated areas. Progress should be monitored through periodic reviews. The Chief Minister also urged necessary improvements to schemes based on feedback from beneficiaries to ensure their benefits reach the public more effectively and enable a wider audience to benefit.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the state government is committed to the overall development of all sections of society. Priority is being given to schemes related to education, skill development, self-employment, and social security for the upliftment of OBCs.
