Dehradun/Khatima: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday chaired a virtual meeting with all District Magistrates of the state from his private residence in Khatima to review several important issues. The Chief Minister directed officials to accelerate the campaign to remove encroachments from government land and said that government land located in village assemblies should also be comprehensively investigated.
The Chief Minister said that investigations into land purchased in violation of the state’s land laws should be intensified. He directed officials to conduct speedy hearings in such cases and ensure that land found to be purchased illegally is vested in the state government. He also instructed officials to remove illegal encroachments on enemy properties.
CM Dhami directed regular review and verification of Waqf properties being registered on the Umeed portal. He also instructed officials to verify weapon licenses of people who have come from other states and identify individuals with criminal backgrounds.
The Chief Minister further directed officials to inspect public service centers and identify ineligible individuals who are availing benefits of government schemes through illegally obtained ration cards. He also asked officials to strengthen monitoring of suspicious activities and speed up verification drives.
Keeping the upcoming monsoon season in mind, the Chief Minister instructed all districts to complete preparations in advance. He said pre-monsoon review meetings should be organized to ensure necessary arrangements. He directed officials to prioritize repair of damaged roads, drinking water supply, and resolution of technical issues.
CM Dhami made it clear that unnecessary power cuts should not occur under any circumstances in the state. If power cuts become unavoidable for any reason, advance information should be communicated to the public at the local level in a timely manner.
Reviewing the Char Dham Yatra, the Chief Minister instructed officials to regularly monitor pilgrimage routes and collect feedback from pilgrims. He emphasized maintaining proper drinking water and traffic arrangements along the routes. He also directed that the construction work of the Kainchi Dham bypass under the Manaskhand Yatra project must be completed by next month under all circumstances.
Reviewing schemes of the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments, the Chief Minister said that a result-oriented work culture should be adopted to ensure that schemes such as Poly House, Apple Mission, and Kiwi Mission genuinely benefit farmers.
Additionally, the Chief Minister directed officials to speed up reconstruction work in disaster-affected areas from the previous year and also reviewed the progress of Joshimath reconstruction work. He instructed officials to increase vigilance and monitoring in sensitive areas before the monsoon season.
