Pauri: During his visit to Pauri Garhwal on Monday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Dr. Ambedkar District Science Museum on Srinagar Road and officially launched the Kandoliya Mahotsav at Ramlila Ground. On the occasion, he announced 19 development projects worth ₹110.55 crore for the district, including the foundation laying of 14 projects and the inauguration of 5 completed projects.
Science Museum to Become a Hub of Innovation
The Chief Minister toured the Science Museum, observing interactive models, scientific exhibits, and modern equipment. Students from various schools demonstrated science-based activities and projects.
CM Dhami stated that the museum would serve not only as an exhibition center but also as a modern science education and innovation hub for students and young people. He said the facility would help children understand science through practical experiments and activities, fostering curiosity, research skills, and scientific thinking.
Kandoliya Mahotsav Granted State Festival Status
The Chief Minister offered prayers at the Kandoliya Temple and wished for the prosperity and well-being of the people of the state. He also announced that the Kandoliya Mahotsav would be developed as an official state festival.
He said the festival serves as a powerful platform for showcasing Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage, folk traditions, and young talent.
Development Projects Worth ₹110 Crore
CM Dhami stated that the 19 development projects, launched at a cost of nearly ₹110 crore, would strengthen regional infrastructure and bring positive changes to the lives of local residents. These projects are expected to accelerate development, generate employment, and boost tourism.
Focus on Both Development and Heritage
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is progressing while preserving both development and cultural heritage. He highlighted initiatives such as the Char Dham Yatra, House of Himalayas, One District Two Products (ODOP) scheme, Millet Mission, new tourism and film policies, self-employment programs, and homestay schemes.
Youth Welfare Remains a Priority
CM Dhami said that Uttarakhand has implemented one of the country’s strictest anti-cheating laws to protect the future of young people. Over the past four years, more than 33,000 youths have reportedly received government jobs through transparent recruitment processes.
Mention of UCC and Other Laws
The Chief Minister stated that protecting Uttarakhand’s Sanatan culture and social harmony remains a top priority. He referred to major policy decisions such as the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), anti-conversion law, anti-riot law, and stricter land laws.
New Direction for Pauri’s Development
He said that projects such as the state’s first NCC Academy, NIT campus, Ganga Culture Center, Singtali Bridge, Pauri–Srinagar road widening, lake development projects, driving test track, and sports infrastructure would create new opportunities for development, employment, and tourism in the region.
Several public representatives and officials, including MLAs Rajkumar Pori and Dalip Singh Rawat, District Panchayat Chairperson Rachna Butola, Municipal Chairperson Himani Negi, Block Chief Asmita Negi, and senior administrative officers, attended the event.
