CM Dhami Inspects State’s First Women’s Sports College Being Built at a Cost of ₹256 Crore

Lohaghat. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an on-site inspection of the state’s first Women’s Sports College under construction at Chamania in the Lohaghat area of Champawat district, being built at a cost of approximately ₹256 crore. He reviewed the progress in detail and directed the executing agency and concerned officials to complete all works within the stipulated timeframe and in accordance with high-quality standards.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of various sports infrastructures, including a football ground, an artificial turf hockey field, volleyball and basketball courts, and an artificial athletic track. He also sought information about the construction of a hostel with a capacity of 300 girls, staff quarters, administrative building, academic building, multipurpose hall, auditorium, and guest house.

He said that this Women’s Sports College in Lohaghat will provide international-level sports facilities to the daughters of the state. All facilities being developed here will meet high standards, enabling women athletes from the state to perform excellently in national and international competitions.

He added that the institution will offer integrated arrangements for training, education, and accommodation, providing a strong opportunity especially for talented girls from rural and mountainous areas.

On this occasion, Member of Parliament and Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta and other public representatives and officials were present.
