Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the teaser and poster of Bala Gauriya, a film based on Uttarakhand’s folk culture and folk legends, at the Chief Minister’s residence. The film is based on the childhood life of Goljyu, revered as the God of Justice. The film is directed by Nitin Tiwari and produced by Manoj Chandola. It is expected to be released in the first week of October.

Congratulating the entire team, Chief Minister Dhami said that Uttarakhand’s rich heritage of folk culture, traditions, folk legends, and folk deities is a distinctive part of the state’s identity. Films like Bala Gauriya will play an important role in connecting folk culture with the younger generation and taking it to audiences across the country and the world.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working to establish Uttarakhand as a major hub for film production and film tourism. The state’s natural beauty, folk culture, and diverse geographical conditions are well suited for filmmaking. The government is working to provide filmmakers with better facilities, faster permission processes, and a conducive environment for shooting.

He said film production will create employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth. At the same time, Uttarakhand’s art, culture, languages and dialects, folk traditions, and tourist destinations will gain recognition nationally and internationally.

The Chief Minister called upon filmmakers to produce more films based on Uttarakhand’s other folk deities, folk legends, and cultural traditions. He said films like Bala Gauriya can provide a wider platform to Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage while also giving the state’s tourism sector a new identity.
