CM Dhami Pays Tribute to Martyr Lieutenant Bireshwar Goswami in Almora, Announces Memorial Gate in His Honor

Almora: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the residence of martyr Lieutenant Bireshwar Goswami in Pandekhola, Almora, on Sunday to pay his respects. Lieutenant Goswami laid down his life while serving in an anti-terror operation in the Rajouri region of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Chief Minister offered floral tributes before the martyr’s portrait and expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Meeting the family members, he assured them that the entire state stands with them during this difficult time.

CM Dhami said that Lieutenant Bireshwar Goswami’s supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation would always be remembered. He added that the officer’s courage, dedication, and patriotism would continue to inspire future generations.

He emphasized that those who sacrifice their lives for the country never truly die but become immortal through their service and valor. The Chief Minister assured the family that the state government would provide all possible assistance and take care of their needs.

On the occasion, he announced that a grand memorial gate would be constructed at a prominent location in Almora in memory of Lieutenant Bireshwar Goswami. He also stated that the martyr’s contribution and sacrifice would be commemorated through other developmental initiatives in the region so that young people could draw inspiration from his example.

Lieutenant Goswami, an officer of the 5 Assam Regiment, attained martyrdom while performing his duties during an anti-terror operation in Rajouri. His mortal remains were brought to Almora with full military and state honors, where thousands of people paid their final respects with tearful eyes.

The Chief Minister said that the sacrifices made by Uttarakhand’s brave sons will always be recorded in golden letters in the history of the nation and that the state is proud of its heroic soldier.
